The Chinese government has closed the alliance project called “P3” which included the three major leaders in the sea freight container market :
- Maersk Line (Denmark)
- MSC (Switzerland)
- CMA-CGM (France)
Despite approval from the European and American authorities, they must abandon the “P3” project.
MSC and Maersk had immediately contested this and have just announced a new alliance involving only two companies, thus removing the CMA-CGM. This new partnership should represent a fleet of 185 vessels.
Also in the making is the port of Antwerp, currently building the largest container terminal in Europe, to be finished at the end of 2015. It’s planned extension is over 3.5 kilometers of docks and will have forty container cranes. Bigger than ever, we hope that the future logistics systems will benefit our customers.
