WTO released an update in October of its flagship statistical report “Trade Profiles 2021”. Released quietly, this statistical report is a unique tool for importers and exporters.

The report highlights the top exports/imports and all trading partners in each economy. It allows companies to identify export and import opportunities and compare market access conditions on a basis of more than 197 countries!

Indispensable for preparing to better identify the markets to target and minimize the risks of your international business projects.

key figures for transport 2021

Key figures of the world economies

All country profiles are easily accessible and consist of an identical summary. Country profiles include a breakdown of exports and imports for each economy and its major trading partners. The profiles also include a transportation section with import and export values for sea, air, and road transportation.

The first section provides a quick overview of the importance of trade in the economy (GDP, balance of trade, rank of the country’s economy in world trade, etc.).

The second section is devoted to merchandise trade indicators. The main exports and imports are listed for agricultural and non-agricultural products as well as the main import and export partners for total merchandise trade.

The third part deals with trade in commercial services with a detailed breakdown. It provides detailed trade statistics on transportation, including its breakdown by mode of transport, travel, other commercial services, and merchandise-related services.

The last section covers intellectual property indicators (number of patents filed, trademarks, etc.)

The data come from multiple domains such as customs statistics, national accounts, balance of payments statistics, foreign affiliates trade statistics (FATS) and industrial property statistics.
